“Remembered” was made while thinking about landscape from above; the way land is read through aerial plans and drawings but allowing the process to remain instinctive rather than measured. Instead of lines and contours, I used my hands and fingers to move paint across the surface, relying on touch, muscle memory, and feeling.
The sweeping marks echo the experience of reading terrain before it is translated into data: a sense of movement, density, and flow that exists prior to mapping. The work sits between professional memory and embodied making, holding space for what is known through practice but remembered through the body.
This painting reflects a moment before definition, where landscape is felt, not yet named or drawn.
